I don't know where I got the habit, but I'm more of a book re-reader than new book reader.Sure, I do a lot of current research as well, but I love to return to the "oldies, but goodies" that have been gathering dust on the shelves of my office.One of these small treasures is Mark O. Haroldsen's, "The Courage To Be Rich.".

Written decades ago, when consumer interest rates were at or above 20% per annum, you might look at the copyright date and infer that the contents are outdated.Not so, in fact much of Haroldsen's wisdom still applies today.The author is especially sharp in three areas: (1) Identifying the benefits of building wealth through real estate; (2) Defining the best properties to buy and the most motivated sellers; and (3) Money management, particularly developing solid and profitable banking relationships.Along the way, he also weighs in on other, generally pertinent topics to any fortune seeker or self-guided person.One of the tips I like says: "Send out 100 LOW offers" on properties you want.

Sure, ninety-plus percent will go into the trash, but there will be a few people who will take your offer seriously.
